I moved into the area in Nov 2012. I continually get pulled over in Lafayette for trivial offenses. I've been pulled over for faulty tail lights that mysteriously start working when I walk to the rear of the car with the officer. I've also been pulled over for license plate lights that mysteriously start working. Most recently I was pulled over for throwing a cigarette butt out the window and I don't even smoke. Trust me, there's something inherently wrong with the way they patrol the traffic beat. I have no other experience with them outside of these trivial offenses but I stay clear of Lafayette these days as it's clear to me I'm not welcome there.
Should spend less time looking for minor speeding violations and worry more about protecting the citizens.
I appreciate the Lafayette Police Department and all they do to protect our community. They are quick to respond and very detail oriented and thorough in their work! Thank you, our highly valued police officers for laying down your lives for our families every day!
I got a ticket so many time but i am not blamethem cuz of my fault. If u didnt donanything wrong why would you afraid of them. They do their job. They risk their life to save someone life. Respect to them. No one perfect and they have good and bad. They do their best in my opinion.
